or the past year, Callie Conklin has been the dorm dean and an adviser in South Cottage. When the spring term rolled around, the Conklin’s announced that they would be adding a baby boy to their family. Because Conklin values being available to students and faculty, with a newborn due in September, she decided that it would be best to invest her time in childcare and family.

However, she will miss being dorm dean. “Listening to students share their passion for learning and education” is what she said that she would miss the most about the dorm. Her leadership and calm presence will be missed by those in South Cottage. Abby Voce ’18, a resident of South Cottage, she said she would miss “her advice at the duty desk and the yummy snacks that she makes.” Conklin is thrilled that the Swopes will be moving in, saying that they are “arguably the coolest couple on campus,” and that she hopes that they will continue the many of the traditions in South Cottage. She is hopeful that she will be able to visit the girls next year to catch up and bring them some fresh baked goodies.
